National President of the BJP, Nitin Nabin, highlighted Assam’s spiritual heritage, cultural unity, and the significant role of tea garden workers during his recent visit to Tinsukia and Dibrugarh districts. Nabin visited the Namghar at Barekuri village in Tinsukia, praising it as a spiritual hub reflecting the Moran community’s deep faith and cultural harmony. He also noted the unique coexistence of devotion and nature in Barekuri, where people live harmoniously with wildlife.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, Nabin pointed out the presence of rare Hoolock Gibbons, locally known as “Holo Bandar,” in Barekuri village. He emphasized the village’s demonstration of how faith, culture, and nature can coexist peacefully. Nabin offered prayers at the Namghar for peace, prosperity, and the progress of India’s people.
During his visit, Nabin enjoyed a traditional Assamese breakfast at Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s residence in Dibrugarh. He appreciated the warmth, hospitality, and culinary traditions of Assam experienced during the interaction. Nabin also highlighted the global recognition of Assam’s tea industry for its vast green landscapes and the superior quality of Assam tea, attributing this reputation to the hard work and dedication of tea garden workers.
Nabin stressed the essential role of tea workers in bringing global acclaim to Assam tea, acknowledging their contribution to the state’s economy and heritage. He emphasized the need to preserve Assam’s cultural, ecological, and economic strengths while fostering inclusive growth based on tradition and sustainability.
