BJP’s Punjab President Sunil Jakhar criticized the Punjab Police for requesting more time to reply to the Delhi Legislative Assembly after being summoned regarding a forensic examination of a video involving former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. Jakhar highlighted the quick completion of the investigation in one day and questioned the need for additional time to respond.
Jakhar pointed out the contrast between the swift forensic examination of Atishi’s video and the delayed response to the Assembly’s notice. He raised concerns about the police’s silence on another video resembling the Chief Minister’s face, urging for a thorough investigation into the matter. The Chief Minister has also called for a forensic examination of the video in question.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann responded to the BJP’s allegations of tampering with Atishi’s video, denouncing it as a deliberate attempt to incite communal unrest in Punjab. Mann emphasized the government’s commitment to thwart such conspiracies and clarified that forensic analysis disproved the alleged statements attributed to Atishi. He criticized the BJP for pursuing an anti-Punjab agenda and defended the Punjab Police’s actions against BJP leader Kapil Mishra.
