The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its star campaigners for the West Bengal Assembly elections, featuring notable figures like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The list includes BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, J.P. Nadda, and Dharmendra Pradhan, among others. The lineup also comprises personalities such as Mithun Chakraborty, Leander Paes, and various state leaders like Suvendu Adhikari and Dilip Ghosh.
The announcement coincided with Prime Minister Modi’s rally in Cooch Behar district, marking his first campaign event in West Bengal post the declaration of polling dates. During the rally, PM Modi criticized the Mamata Banerjee-led state government, highlighting recent incidents like the Kaliachak hostage crisis in Malda district. He expressed concerns over the law and order situation in West Bengal, citing even the Supreme Court’s apprehensions.
PM Modi pledged to address the challenges faced by West Bengal post-elections, emphasizing the BJP’s stance against illegal infiltrators. He accused the Trinamool Congress of harboring such infiltrators and vowed to tackle the issue decisively.
