Reacting to the Karnataka government’s choice to use ballot paper for the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) polls, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla stated that it reveals the Congress’ hypocrisy. Poonawalla emphasized that regardless of the voting method, the Congress is expected to lose. He highlighted the Congress’ past support for EVMs in elections, pointing out their change in stance now.

Poonawalla also commented on the Madras High Court’s dismissal of the FIR against BJP’s Amit Malviya for his social media comments about Tamil Nadu Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin. He criticized the DMK government’s actions following the court’s decision, mentioning the court’s remarks on Udhayanidhi’s statements.

Furthermore, Poonawalla criticized the Congress for its objections to the changes in MGNREGA by the Centre. He pointed out the increased allocation of funds by the NDA government under Prime Minister Modi compared to the Congress’s contributions. Poonawalla accused the Congress of being against various aspects including Ram, villages, a developed India, and farmers.

Regarding allegations by the Opposition on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, Poonawalla highlighted the lack of complaints submitted to the court despite claims made by various parties. He suggested that the real motive behind the allegations was to facilitate illegal infiltration and fake entries during the voter list revision process.
