BJP State President and MLA, B.Y. Vijayendra, expressed that the ongoing bye-elections pose a significant challenge for the Karnataka government and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Vijayendra, speaking in Davanagere, accused the Chief Minister of misleading the public through guarantee schemes. The bye-elections have now become a critical test for the Congress government, with confusion arising over which seat to retain between Davanagere South and Bagalkot.
Vijayendra highlighted the growing discontent among voters in Davangere, indicating a potential shift in political dynamics favoring the BJP. He criticized the government for failing to deliver on development promises and instead masking them as guarantee schemes. The BJP leader also accused the Chief Minister and his Cabinet of deflecting blame onto the Central government for their own shortcomings.
Addressing concerns about minority communities, Vijayendra criticized Siddaramaiah for allegedly neglecting backward communities despite his initial promises. He emphasized the BJP’s strong campaign efforts at the grassroots level, with party workers actively supporting candidate Srinivas Dasakariyappa. Vijayendra expressed confidence in the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming bypolls, aiming to disrupt the Congress party’s momentum.
On the occasion of the BJP’s Foundation Day on April 6, Vijayendra highlighted the party’s growth since its establishment in 1980. He noted the widespread celebrations across constituencies in Karnataka and nationwide, underscoring the BJP’s status as the world’s largest political party.
