Amid a controversy over demolitions, BJP workers in Mandya district, Karnataka, penned a letter to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. They expressed that if Vijayan intervenes, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D. K. Shivakumar would address their demands promptly. The letter was in response to Vijayan’s remarks accusing Karnataka of using a ‘bulldozer’ approach in demolishing houses of Muslims in Bengaluru.
Protesting the Congress-led government’s rehabilitation measures for encroachers, BJP workers in Mandya staged a demonstration and directed their concerns to the Kerala CM. The letter highlighted the housing needs of the underprivileged in Karnataka, urging Vijayan to advocate for them. It mentioned the swift actions taken by the Karnataka government in response to Vijayan’s social media comments on housing issues.
The letter emphasized the plight of thousands in Karnataka awaiting housing under various schemes due to natural calamities. It urged Vijayan to voice support for the state’s poor, suggesting that his influence could prompt action from the Karnataka leadership. The BJP workers appealed to Vijayan to extend his assistance to the people of Karnataka, drawing parallels to instances where Kerala had received aid from Karnataka.
