The Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate, Harshad Parmar, submitted his nomination for the Umreth Assembly by-election in Gujarat. This event took place after a public gathering in Umreth attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Patel praised the late former MLA Govind Parmar for his service and entrusted Harshad Parmar with continuing his work.
Highlighting the stable leadership in India, Patel emphasized the importance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance amidst global uncertainties. He commended Modi for prioritizing development for all citizens, which has strengthened public trust in the BJP. Patel also promised to prioritize ongoing and planned development projects in the Umreth constituency.
The upcoming by-election in Umreth, necessitated by Govind Parmar’s passing, is scheduled for April 23. Harshad Parmar, nominated by the BJP, will face Congress candidate Bhrugurajsinh Chauhan. This constituency, a significant one in central Gujarat, has been under BJP’s control since 2017.
