Authorities at the Bengaluru Passport Seva Kendra and district courts in Bagalkot and Mysuru faced bomb threats via official email accounts. In Bengaluru, an email warning of a bomb blast was sent to the passport office on Lalbagh Road, prompting police response with dog squads and bomb disposal teams for inspections. Similar threats were received by the Principal District Judge’s office in Mysuru and the Bagalkot District Court, leading to evacuations and ongoing search operations.
Staff and visitors were alarmed by the threats, necessitating precautionary measures such as evacuations in the courtrooms. The police are actively investigating the incidents, with search and combing operations in progress to ensure safety and security. Earlier, the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner had received a bomb threat in 2025, warning of potential attacks at the airport and city malls, leading to a case of cyber terrorism under the IT Act.
The bomb threats, received through official emails, have raised concerns and prompted swift responses from the authorities. Judges, litigants, and staff were evacuated from the court premises as a safety measure. The police, including dog squads and bomb disposal teams, are conducting thorough inspections and searches to address the threats and ensure public safety. Investigations are ongoing to identify the perpetrators behind the threatening emails and prevent any potential harm.
