The Ministry of Interior Affairs in Afghanistan’s Khost province reported the discovery and confiscation of a cache of armaments and ammunition by the counter-terrorism police. The seizure, which included rocket launchers, hand grenades, machine-gun rounds, assorted ammunition, rocket rounds, and propellant charges, was part of operations in the Zazi Maidan district. Three suspects linked to the confiscated items will face legal action after initial investigations.
In a separate incident in Paktika province, additional arms and ammunition were uncovered by the police as part of efforts to combat unauthorized weapons. Afghan authorities have been actively seizing weapons and ammunition over the past four years in a bid to improve security and stability in the country. Recently, a significant weapons cache was found in Uruzgan province, leading to the arrest of three individuals connected to the illicit arms stash.
Authorities are conducting further investigations to identify any other individuals associated with the hidden weapons. In Helmand province, police seized a cache of weapons and ammunition, including rifles, grenades, a mortar launcher, and various military equipment. An individual suspected of involvement in the case has been detained for further questioning and investigation.
