A case has been filed against renowned producer and director Vikram Bhatt and his daughter at Versova Police Station. They are accused of taking money from a businessman with promises of high returns on investments in cinema and other ventures. The Economic Offenses Wing has initiated an investigation into the complaint of fraud amounting to INR 13.5 crore against Vikram Bhatt and his daughter Krishna Bhatt.

Vikram Bhatt, along with his wife, has been embroiled in financial controversies previously. They were recently remanded to seven days of police custody in connection with another alleged fraud case involving INR 30 crore. The couple was arrested from their Mumbai residence and brought to Udaipur for legal proceedings. DSP Chhagan Singh Rajpurohit is overseeing the investigation into these financial irregularities.

A police team led by DSP Rajpurohit apprehended Vikram and his wife from their Juhu residence in Mumbai. Despite initial attempts by their security staff to prevent the arrest by claiming they were not present, both individuals were eventually taken into custody. The case was initiated based on a complaint filed by Dr. Ajay Murdia, alleging that funds were collected under false pretenses for a biopic project. Vikram Bhatt had reportedly promised substantial returns on an investment of Rs 7 crore, leading to the alleged fraud accusations.
