The movie stars Kasthuri Raja and Malavika Manoj in lead roles and has received a ‘U’ certificate after completing censor formalities. The CBFC officials praised the film for its family-friendly content and positive values.
Malavika Manoj, known for her roles in ‘Joe’ and ‘Aan Paavam Polladhadhu’, plays a character named Nilofer Nisha in ‘Habeebi’. Her character’s nickname in the film is ‘Nilavu Pulla’ (Moon Child). Director Meera Kathiravan expressed that he specifically chose Malavika for her ability to portray a girl from the 90s with different appearances across two time periods.
‘Habeebi’ is described as a heartfelt narrative that authentically portrays the life, culture, and emotions of Tamil Muslims. The film, meaning “My Beloved,” delves into themes of love, human connections, and personal experiences. It is set to be distributed globally by Romeo Pictures Raahul, a company known for supporting both commercial hits and content-driven cinema. The music for the film is composed by Sam C.S.
