The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), and the National Investigation Agency (NIA), successfully facilitated the deportation of two Red Notice criminals from Gulf countries. Muhammedali Kanneer Palliyalil was deported from Saudi Arabia, wanted by the NIA for unlawful activities and murder. Avinash Arjun Rathod was deported from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the same day and taken into custody by the Maharashtra Police upon arrival at Mumbai airport.

Rathod, involved in a significant financial fraud case, deceived investors by falsely promising fixed monthly returns in multiple schemes. He misappropriated funds, diverting them through various bank and demat accounts. Indian agencies, with INTERPOL’s Red Notice against him, ensured his deportation from the UAE. Palliyalil, also wanted for unlawful activities and murder by the NIA, was involved in a deadly assault on a victim’s shop, resulting in grievous injuries and death. Following his arrest in Saudi Arabia and an extradition request, he was deported to India.

The CBI, as India’s National Central Bureau for INTERPOL, collaborates with all national law enforcement agencies through BHARATPOL for INTERPOL assistance. The coordinated efforts of MEA, MHA, and other agencies have led to the successful deportation of over 170 wanted criminals to India in recent years via INTERPOL channels.
