The Central District Police in Delhi apprehended two individuals in the Patel Nagar area for possessing 1.56 kg of ganja. This operation resulted in the disruption of a drug supply chain, leading to the arrest of both the peddler and the supplier.
Under a special drive called Operation Kavach, initiated by PS Patel Nagar to combat organized crime and drug trafficking, a dedicated police team, supervised by Inspector Naveen Kumar and ACP Sunil Kumar, conducted multiple raids in suspected locations. Specific intelligence about a person named Sameer, allegedly involved in selling ganja, proved crucial in the operation.
Following the intelligence, the police team set a trap near the Shadipur Flyover and successfully captured Sameer with approximately 1,330 grams of ganja. A case was registered under the NDPS Act, leading to the disclosure of Sameer’s supplier, Amar Singh, who was subsequently arrested with an additional 230 grams of ganja.
The arrested individuals, Md Sameer and Amar Singh, residents of Anand Parbat and Prem Nagar in Patel Nagar respectively, were found to have prior criminal records. The total seizure in the case amounted to 1,560 grams of ganja, aiding in dismantling a local drug supply network. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohit Rajbir Singh emphasized the continuation of such operations to combat drug trafficking in the capital.
