This victory marked Chanmari FC’s first win of the season, propelling them to second place with four points, while Sreenidi Deccan sits third with three points.
In the match, Chanmari FC’s Head Coach Victor Lalbiakmawia made a strategic change by starting Brazilian forward Joao Vitor De Paula Morais (Jota) in the attack. On the other side, Sreenidi Deccan’s head coach, Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto, had to replace the injured Bhaskar Roy with Aryan Niraj Lamba in goal.
The game started slowly with both teams focusing on possession, but Sreenidi Deccan gained control as the first half progressed. Despite missed opportunities by Hardik Bhatt and Fabrice Kah, the score remained 0-0 at halftime.
Suanngaihmuana set up Jota for Chanmari FC’s opening goal against the run of play in the 60th minute. However, Sreenidi Deccan equalized in the 80th minute through a header by substitute Paulo Cezar Pereira Dos Santos, setting up a tense finale.
As the match seemed headed for a draw, Lalruatsanga’s precise finish in the 93rd minute secured a dramatic 2-1 victory for Chanmari FC, breaking Sreenidi Deccan’s hearts.
