Chaos unfolded in the Lok Sabha when Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi brought up the India-China standoff during a session. He criticized BJP MP Tejasvi Surya for questioning the Congress party’s patriotism, citing former Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane’s book on the Ladakh standoff.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh objected to Gandhi quoting unpublished material and questioned the authenticity of the book. This led to a disruption in the House, with Home Minister Amit Shah seeking clarification on the source of the quotes.
Despite objections, Gandhi persisted, asserting the authenticity of his source and the need to address the issue raised in the publication. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav supported Gandhi’s stance on the sensitive China issue, emphasizing the importance of raising national interest concerns.
