Chennaiyin FC is gearing up to bounce back as they prepare to take on East Bengal in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26. With East Bengal positioned fifth in the standings and having won three out of six matches, the upcoming match poses a significant challenge. Chennaiyin FC, also known as the Marina Machans, will aim to leverage their past successes, including a notable 3-0 win in their previous encounter, and capitalize on their home advantage to climb up the league table.

Head coach Clifford Rayes Miranda expressed the formidable nature of East Bengal, considering them the most well-balanced team in the division. Miranda highlighted East Bengal’s strengths in the midfield, speed on the wings, and the presence of one of the league’s top strikers. Despite acknowledging the tough task ahead, Miranda conveyed the team’s determination to secure a victory, especially on their home turf.

Miranda addressed Chennaiyin’s goal-scoring challenges this season, attributing them to a shift in tactical approach towards a more possession-based style of play. Emphasizing the need for improved decision-making in the attacking phase, Miranda outlined the team’s progression towards a more controlled and patient possession-oriented strategy.

Senior player Mandar Rao Dessai shared the team’s commitment to continual improvement and emphasized the importance of winning home games. Despite a recent defeat, Dessai expressed confidence in the team’s preparation and unity, highlighting the collective effort needed to secure a win in the upcoming match.

Ahead of East Bengal’s visit, Miranda confirmed the availability of the entire squad for the first time this season, signaling a full-strength lineup for the crucial fixture.
