Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai is in New Delhi for crucial meetings focusing on the holistic development of Bastar post-Maoist era. Scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on April 7, CM Sai aims to present a detailed roadmap for Bastar’s rapid progress.
The emphasis has shifted from security operations to mainstreaming the tribal-dominated region through development initiatives. The plan includes expanding infrastructure, promoting industries, attracting investments, and ensuring inclusive growth for tribal communities. The goal is to transform Bastar into a hub of progress while preserving its tribal culture.
The Chhattisgarh government has already initiated post-Maoist development measures such as establishing Education Cities and promoting tourism. The Delhi meetings are seen as crucial to securing central support and funding for Bastar’s transformation. The aim is to convert security gains into tangible socio-economic development for the region’s people.
This visit is expected to boost the “Viksit Bastar” vision, aiming to make the area self-reliant, prosperous, and fully integrated with the national mainstream.
