Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s significant efforts in protecting Manipur’s boundaries and interests during the 47th foundation day celebration of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Noney district. He commended PM Modi for ensuring the preservation of Manipur’s territorial integrity and for advancing the ‘Act East Policy’ from the previous ‘Look East Policy’, with a focus on enhancing connectivity with Southeast Asian nations.

Singh expressed gratitude to Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the promised support towards the state’s development and the welfare of its residents. He emphasized the BJP’s commitment to the Northeast region, comprising eight states, and acknowledged former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for establishing the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) to foster growth in the mountainous North-Eastern area.

During his visit to Jiribam district bordering Assam, the Chief Minister participated in various events before returning to Imphal. He was warmly welcomed by local BJP MLA Dipu Gangmei and Rongmei Naga traditional dancers at the function in Noney town, where he, along with state BJP President Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi, raised the BJP flag at Longmai Common Ground.
