Chhattisgarh women’s football team secured a gold medal in the Khelo India Tribal Games by defeating Jharkhand 1-0 in the final match in Raipur. The victory was fueled by the exceptional performance of their captain, Kiran Pisda.
The Chhattisgarh women’s team capitalized on a single opportunity against a strong Jharkhand side, with their captain scoring in the 61st minute. Kiran expressed joy in winning the gold in front of their home crowd, emphasizing the significance of the support received.
The Khelo India Tribal Games, featuring athletes from 30 States and Union Territories, includes various disciplines like archery, athletics, football, hockey, swimming, weightlifting, and wrestling. The event also showcases demonstration sports like Mallakhamb and Kabaddi.
In addition to the football success, Chhattisgarh also secured a silver in the men’s 4x400m relay and a bronze in the men’s 1500m event, further enhancing their overall performance in the track and field competitions.
