With Assembly elections approaching in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will visit Puducherry and Tamil Nadu for a two-day review of poll readiness. Upon arriving in Puducherry, Kumar will engage in detailed discussions with senior officials, focusing on security arrangements, logistical readiness, and ensuring fair elections in the Union Territory.
Ahead of the visit, Puducherry Police conducted a meeting with recognized political parties to discuss election-related security protocols. The meeting, led by DIG Sathya Sundaram, addressed various aspects of election security, including law and order management and adherence to the Model Code of Conduct.
Following his visit to Puducherry, the Chief Election Commissioner will proceed to Tamil Nadu, accompanied by seven Deputy Election Commissioners. In Chennai, Kumar will meet with Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik and other election officials to evaluate the state’s preparedness. Subsequently, he will hold consultations with senior government officials and recognized political parties in Tamil Nadu.
