Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed sorrow over a tragic incident in Anuppur district where a four-story building collapse led to the death of one person on Saturday evening. In response, he took to social media to direct officials to provide immediate relief and medical assistance to those affected. The collapse occurred in the Kotma Municipal area of Anuppur district, and rescue operations involving local authorities, police, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are ongoing.
A hotel building in Kotma town collapsed between 5:30 and 6 pm, trapping at least six individuals under debris. Reports suggest that passengers from the bus stand and construction workers from an adjacent site were present during the incident. Superintendent of Police Moti ur Rehman of Anuppur mentioned that ongoing construction in a 10-year-old building could have contributed to the collapse. Expert rescue teams from South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) and JMS, a coal mining firm, have been mobilized to assist in the rescue efforts.
