Three children who left home on their own in separate incidents and went missing from various parts of Delhi have been found and reunited with their families, as confirmed by the police. The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Delhi Police Crime Branch successfully located the missing minors in different areas of Delhi and Surat, Gujarat.
In the first case, a 12-year-old boy missing since 2021 was rescued from Vikas Nagar in Delhi by an AHTU team. Investigations revealed that the boy, whose mother passed away several years ago, had fled his home due to alleged mistreatment by his stepmother and had been seeking refuge in local parks and temples.
Another case involved a 16-year-old girl who went missing on April 17 and was later found in Dhiraj Nagar, Surat, after eloping with a male schoolmate. They had been living together in a rented place in Surat. The AHTU team conducted the operation that led to her safe recovery.
Similarly, a second 16-year-old girl who had eloped with a boy from her neighborhood was also located in Surat by the AHTU team. The couple had found work and rented accommodation in Ram Nagar, Surat. The AHTU teams overcame challenges of time and distance through technical surveillance and field intelligence to ensure the safe reunion of these missing children with their families.
