Children’s Research University in Gandhinagar is organizing the State-level ‘Under-11 Athletics Meet Season 4.0’ in Surat from January 9 to 12, 2026, aiming to engage young talent in sports. Over 4,500 child athletes from Gujarat have registered for the event, which focuses on nurturing sporting abilities scientifically.
The meet, dubbed as a ‘Mini Khel Mahakumbh’, is not just a competition but an effort to discover and support hidden sporting talent among children. Winners of the 11 athletic events will share prize money totaling Rs 22 lakh, with opportunities for direct admission to the District Level Sports School (DLSS) by the Sports Authority of Gujarat.
Scheduled at Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat, the competition will include various events for boys and girls aged Under-9 and Under-11. The activities range from races to jumps and throws, emphasizing the importance of sports in both physical and mental development of children.
