China’s Ambassador Xu Feihong conveyed Beijing’s eagerness to enhance strategic alignment, deepen practical cooperation, and boost people-to-people exchanges with India as the two nations celebrated the 76th anniversary of their diplomatic relations. Xu emphasized the significance of the enduring friendship between China and India, highlighting the mutual benefits of cooperation and the shared vision for progress.
In a recent announcement, the Chinese Embassy in India revealed the commencement of flight services between Kolkata and Shanghai by IndiaGo starting March 29, with plans for flights between Guangzhou and Delhi in the upcoming summer-autumn season. This move signifies a growing air connectivity between the two countries, with various airlines introducing new routes to facilitate travel.
China also welcomed the appointment of Vikram Doraiswami as India’s Ambassador to China, expressing optimism about his role in further enhancing bilateral ties. Chinese officials emphasized the importance of diplomatic envoys in fostering friendly relations and affirmed their support for Doraiswami’s efforts to strengthen the relationship between China and India.
During the India-China Strategic Dialogue held in New Delhi, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and China’s Executive Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu discussed ways to bolster bilateral relations, including increasing people-to-people exchanges and addressing mutual concerns. The dialogue also touched upon global and regional issues, reflecting the ongoing efforts to promote cooperation and understanding between the two nations.
