The Chinese badminton team excelled at the Thailand Open 2026, with Chen Yufei, Bao Lijing/Cao Zihan, and Zhu Yijun/Li Qian securing spots in the women’s singles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles finals, respectively. In the women’s doubles semifinals, Bao Lijing and Cao Zihan defeated Chinese Taipei’s Hu Ling-fang and Jheng Yu-chieh in a swift 40-minute match. They will now face Japan’s Rin Iwanaga/Kie Nakanishi in the final.

Defending champion Chen Yufei advanced to the women’s singles final after a convincing win over Japan’s Hina Akechi. She is set to compete against her long-time rival, Akane Yamaguchi of Japan, for the championship. China’s mixed doubles pair Cheng Xing and Zhang Chi faced a tough loss against Denmark’s Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Boje, while Zhu Yijun and Li Qian secured a final spot by defeating Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran.

In the men’s singles, Chinese shuttler Shi Yuqi withdrew before the semifinal, granting Denmark’s Anders Antonsen a walkover victory. The final will feature Antonsen against Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn. The men’s doubles witnessed Indonesia’s Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin defeating China’s He Jiting and Ren Xiangyu to advance to the final against India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty.

India’s top-seeded doubles pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, reached their first final of the 2026 season after a thrilling victory over Malaysia’s Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin in the semifinals. The Indian duo, ranked world No. 4, secured a hard-fought win, extending their head-to-head record against the Malaysians to 8-2.
