Presenting meteorological data, Fadnavis highlighted the intense rainfall in Mumbai, surpassing historical averages within a short period. He compared the recent six-day rainfall in Mumbai to the annual monsoon quotas of other cities like Delhi, Pune, and Bengaluru. The Chief Minister also addressed casualties related to natural disasters and outlined measures to enhance safety, including scientific testing of old trees and efficient drainage systems.
Fadnavis underscored the government’s efforts to combat corruption in civic contracts through technological interventions like AI-based tracking. He criticized past regimes for fraudulent practices and emphasized the importance of utilizing funds for infrastructure development rather than keeping them in fixed deposits. Discussing the Dharavi Redevelopment Project, Fadnavis outlined plans for rehabilitation and commercial development in the area. He announced housing schemes for residents settled before 2000 and between 2000 and 2011, ensuring affordable accommodations. The Chief Minister also addressed water management projects, road infrastructure improvements, and initiatives to streamline government procurement processes for cost savings.
