The Coimbatore District Police have submitted an 819-page chargesheet before a special court regarding the abduction, sexual assault, and murder of a 10-year-old girl near Sulur. This case, which sparked public outrage, involves the death of a girl from Pallapalayam. Two individuals, K. Karthi and R. Mohan, both residents of Pallapalayam, were arrested in connection with the crime.
The investigation, completed within 18 days of the arrests, included forensic examinations, cyber forensic analysis, and witness statements collection. Inspector-General of Police R.V. Ramya Bharathi highlighted the swift progress of the investigation, attributing it to close police coordination and timely forensic reports.
The chargesheet comprises scientific evidence, witness testimonies, and documentary records gathered during the investigation. Post-mortem findings and forensic reports have also been included in the final report submitted to the court. The case will now proceed to the trial stage before the POCSO court for further legal proceedings.
