The ‘Videsh Sampark – State Outreach Conference’ in Rajasthan, jointly organized by the Ministry of External Affairs and the state government, aimed to promote secure and legal overseas migration. The event, held at the Rajasthan International Centre, brought together officials from various departments, police, recruitment agencies, and stakeholders to discuss the importance of safe migration pathways.
During the conference, discussions revolved around the theme of ensuring that Rajasthanis travel abroad safely and with proper training. The sessions included key outcomes and future plans, with State Chief Secretary V. Srinivas highlighting the government’s efforts to strengthen engagement with the Indian diaspora, especially during the Vande Bharat Mission amid the pandemic.
Sripriya Ranganathan from the Ministry of External Affairs emphasized the commitment to simplifying and securing overseas travel for employment and education. The initiative ‘Videsh Sampark’, launched in 2017, focuses on raising awareness about legal migration routes and safeguarding citizens from fraudulent agents, with plans to expand awareness campaigns in rural areas and improve migration services based on accurate data.
Rajasthan’s Director General of Police, Rajiv Sharma, assured close coordination among departments to enhance safe migration mechanisms. He encouraged Rajasthanis facing challenges abroad to seek assistance from the Rajasthan Police. The conference also announced the upcoming Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas to celebrate and strengthen ties with the global Rajasthani community.
