The Congress criticized Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for allegedly absolving Pakistan of wrongdoing during a Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meeting. Singh’s remarks were labeled as “anti-national” by the Congress. Congress General Secretary Incharge Communications, Jairam Ramesh, highlighted Singh’s statements and accused him of providing a favorable assessment of Pakistan’s stance on terrorism.
Singh’s comments at the SCO meeting in Bishkek were scrutinized by the Congress, questioning the Defense Minister’s stance on Pakistan being the epicenter of terrorism. Ramesh further criticized Singh’s approach, linking it to a broader policy of appeasement towards the US and China. The Congress deemed Singh’s statements as detrimental to national interests, akin to the Prime Minister’s previous stance on China.
Singh reiterated India’s strong stance against terrorism during the SCO conclave, emphasizing the country’s commitment to combating terror activities. He underscored the need for a unified front against state-sponsored terrorism, particularly referencing concerns regarding Pakistan. Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, was highlighted as a demonstration of India’s unwavering resolve against terrorism.
