The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has revealed its candidates for 284 out of the 294 Assembly constituencies in West Bengal. The nominations include Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, former state Congress president, contesting from Baharampur, and Mausam Benazir Noor from Malatipur.
Ali Imran Ramz, also known as Victor, accused of domestic violence, will be contesting from Chakulia. Rohon Mitra, son of late Somendra Nath Mitra, will stand from Ballygunge. Congress has decided to go solo in this election after a long-standing alliance with the Left Front.
The party has broken away from the Left Front and is fielding candidates independently in all 294 constituencies. The remaining 10 candidates are yet to be announced by the Congress leadership.
