The Congress party criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s decision to contest the Rajya Sabha elections, labeling it a betrayal of Bihar’s people. Congress leader Udit Raj expressed disappointment, stating that Kumar’s move disregarded the support he received from the community. Raj emphasized the lack of significant initiatives for the Economically Backward Class during Kumar’s tenure.

Another Congress leader, Surendra Rajput, voiced disapproval of the ruling alliance’s handling of the situation, urging them to honor the public’s mandate. Rajput highlighted the importance of serving the electorate on the promised issues rather than deviating from their commitments. The announcement of Kumar’s Rajya Sabha bid has stirred political discussions and reportedly caused dissent within the Janata Dal(United) ranks.

Nitish Kumar, in a social media post, acknowledged the trust placed in him by the people of Bihar over the years. He expressed gratitude for their support and announced his decision to contest the Rajya Sabha elections. Kumar assured the public of his unwavering dedication to Bihar’s development and pledged to support the new government. The move has led to heightened security around the Chief Minister’s residence amid growing political tensions.
