The Congress party expressed disapproval of the reception accorded to ex-Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan by BJP MPs at Parliament, labeling it as “shameful.” Jairam Ramesh, a Congress MP, questioned the BJP’s praise of Pradhan’s actions, highlighting his handling of a paper leak controversy.
Ramesh criticized the BJP MPs for celebrating Pradhan’s tenure despite issues like paper leaks, student unrest, and ministerial support post-resignation. He emphasized that such actions were disrespectful to the country’s youth and demanded clarity on the BJP’s stance regarding Pradhan’s performance.
Pradhan’s entrance at Parliament prompted enthusiastic chants and gestures from BJP and NDA MPs, with one presenting him with traditional attire. Following protests over NEET irregularities, Pradhan resigned as Education Minister, leading to Pralhad Joshi assuming the role in addition to his current responsibilities.
