The Congress party has initiated the “Chhatron Ki Goonj” campaign in Ahmedabad, expressing concerns about examination irregularities impacting students nationwide. This 40-day campaign aims to address issues such as examination paper leaks, recruitment delays, and the performance of the National Testing Agency (NTA). Former Maharashtra minister Satej Patil criticized the BJP government, alleging that its policies have endangered the futures of numerous students.
The campaign serves as a platform for students and job seekers affected by paper leaks, canceled exams, delayed results, and recruitment disruptions. Patil highlighted the need for fair examinations and timely recruitment processes, emphasizing the importance of restoring confidence in the examination system. The Congress leaders paid tribute to Kahan Patel of Gujarat, a student who reportedly died by suicide following the NEET paper leak controversy.
Patil and Ahmedabad city coordinator Shesh Narayan Ojha called for a thorough overhaul of the examination system, advocating for increased accountability and transparency. They demanded a fixed annual examination and recruitment calendar with predefined dates for exams, results, and appointments. The campaign will involve various activities such as pamphlet distributions, street-corner meetings, and student outreach programs across 28 cities.
