Congress Legislature Party leader Vijay Wadettiwar strongly criticized the Maharashtra government during a session in the Legislative Assembly. He accused the government of presenting false information and neglecting key issues in the Governor’s address. Wadettiwar highlighted discrepancies in economic targets and questioned the state’s education and environmental policies.
Wadettiwar pointed out the government’s failure to address the educational system’s shortcomings, such as the lack of teachers in schools and the closure of Marathi-medium schools. He criticized the government’s ambitious economic goals, questioning the feasibility of achieving a $5 trillion economy by 2047 when previous targets have not been met. Additionally, he raised concerns about the state’s environmental conservation efforts and alleged corruption in awarding contracts.
The Congress leader also expressed dismay over the agrarian crisis in Maharashtra, emphasizing the challenges faced by farmers in regions like Yavatmal and Amravati. He criticized the government for not prioritizing farmer welfare and questioned the effectiveness of agreements signed at international forums like the World Economic Forum. Wadettiwar demanded transparency regarding the outcomes of such agreements and urged for a more accountable governance approach.
