AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, along with Congress leaders Pawan Khera and Mansoor Ali Khan, secured unopposed Rajya Sabha seats from Karnataka. Additionally, BJP candidate Prof. M. Nagaraj also won unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from the state.
The election results were announced by K. Vishalakshi, the Secretary of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and the Returning Officer for the election. Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar congratulated the elected members, expressing confidence in their ability to represent Karnataka effectively in Parliament.
Mallikarjun Kharge, the current AICC President, has a long political career, previously serving as the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha. Pawan Khera, the national spokesperson for the Indian National Congress, is known for his strategic political insights. Mansoor Ali Khan, a prominent Congress figure and educationist, has actively contributed to party campaigns and leadership roles.
Prof. M. Nagaraj, representing the BJP, has a background in academia and strong ties to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He has been actively involved in student politics and held significant positions within the Karnataka BJP unit. Nagaraj’s political journey reflects his alignment with the ideological principles of the BJP and his commitment to organizational development.
