Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi sent warm wishes to the people of Telangana on their Statehood Day. Telangana celebrates its Statehood Day annually on June 2, marking its establishment as India’s 29th state in 2014.
Kharge praised Telangana as a state “born out of sacrifice, resilience, and unwavering aspirations.” He credited former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and CPP chairperson Sonia Gandhi for honoring the people’s aspirations, leading to the formation of India’s youngest state. The Congress government in Telangana is dedicated to building a people-centric state rooted in social justice and inclusive growth.
Rahul Gandhi also extended greetings to Telangana, acknowledging the struggle and sacrifice of many for the state. He highlighted the Congress government’s commitment to social justice, equal opportunity, and the dignity of every Telangana resident. Both leaders expressed hope for Telangana’s continued progress and prosperity.
