Manish Tewari, a Congress MP from Chandigarh, has urged for a CBI investigation into the suicide of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, who was the District Manager of the Punjab State Warehousing Corporation. Randhawa had accused former Transport Minister Laljit Bhullar of harassment before taking his own life by consuming Celphos at his residence in Amritsar.
Before his death, Randhawa recorded a brief video on his phone implicating Laljit Bhullar in his decision to end his life. His wife, Upinder Kaur, filed a complaint alleging that the former minister, along with his father and personal assistant, had mistreated Randhawa, leading to his suicide.
In response to the tragic incident, Tewari emphasized the need for a thorough investigation by the CBI to determine accountability for the events surrounding Randhawa’s death. He stressed the importance of public trust in the investigation process and suggested that the Punjab government should hand over the case to the CBI for transparency.
