Congress MP Deepender Hooda criticized the Central government for disregarding Haryana’s welfare, stating that the state government remains passive. He emphasized the need for Haryana to be chosen as the primary or joint host for the 2030 Commonwealth Games and the 2036 Olympics. Hooda, along with several MLAs and MPs, highlighted the significant contributions of Haryana athletes to India’s medal tally in various international sporting events.
Deepender Hooda underscored the disparity in financial allocations to Haryana despite its high GST and toll collections. He expressed disappointment over the government’s decision to invest in sports infrastructure in Gujarat for the 2030 Commonwealth Games instead of Haryana. Hooda called for fair treatment based on each state’s unique strengths and successes, especially in the context of sports achievements.
Hooda raised concerns about the inadequate implementation of MNREGA in Haryana, citing a stark contrast between the number of registered workers and those receiving sufficient workdays. He vowed to advocate for the rights of MNREGA workers and ensure their voices are heard through active engagement and advocacy efforts.
