Condemning the alleged verbal abuse and physical assault on his party MLA by Congress MP Mallu Ravi, BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao termed it an open attack on democracy. The incident occurred in Jogulamba Gadewal district on Tuesday. Mallu Ravi pushed aside BRS MLA Vijayaram during an argument over a protocol issue at the launch of development programmes at Paipadu in Vaddepally municipality.
Rama Rao strongly reacted to the incident, expressing his concerns over the behavior exhibited by Mallu Ravi. A video shared on social media captured the moment when the MP pushed aside the MLA during a disagreement over breaking coconuts as part of a tradition. BRS MLA, along with party leaders, were present at the event where the incident took place.
“This is a glaring example of the degraded politics that Congress leaders have stooped to for intimidating the opposition and silencing their voices,” posted KTR. The incident has raised questions about the respect for democratic values within the political arena. BRS leaders emphasized that such actions undermine the principles of democracy and the rule of law.
Condemning the attack, KTR demanded an immediate apology from Mallu Ravi. He also called upon Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to take moral responsibility and address the issue promptly. BRS leaders accused the Congress MP of resorting to physical attacks as a response to their exposure of alleged corruption by ruling party leaders.
