Congress Rajya Sabha MP Shaktisinh Gohil has called on the Union and Gujarat governments to promptly assist and protect the Gujarati community affected by the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the US in the Gulf region. He emphasized the need for ensuring the safety and security of Gujaratis residing or traveling in the area, given the disruptions caused by drone attacks, missile strikes, and air raids.
Gohil highlighted the challenges faced by Gujarati individuals, including flight disruptions and stranded passengers in Gulf cities due to airspace closures. He specifically mentioned cases like Pritesh Patel and Hinaben Patel from Nadiad, who were left stranded in Kuwait during their journey to the US. The MP stressed the importance of government intervention to support affected Gujarati families and pilgrims, urging swift action to facilitate their return to India.
The escalating tensions have led to uncertainties for Gujarati expatriates and travelers in the Gulf, with reports of stranded individuals and disrupted travel plans. Gohil underscored the significance of immediate government measures to ensure the well-being and safe return of community members facing challenges in the region. He also emphasized the historical trade relations between Gujarat and the Gulf countries, highlighting the need for coordinated efforts to address the current crisis.
