The Congress Party in Rajasthan is set to organize a protest at Shaheed Smarak in Jaipur on March 27 to highlight the challenges faced by the public due to gas shortages and demand accountability from the government. Govind Singh Dotasra, President of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee, announced this decision during a meeting held at the State Congress Headquarters in Jaipur. Dotasra directed all party departments and cells to actively engage with the public to address their grievances and provide support.
He stressed the importance of expanding organizational structures at the Block, Mandal, and Booth levels to better connect with the masses and tackle state-related issues. Dotasra expressed concerns about the potential impact of the conflict in the Middle East on the country’s LPG and petroleum markets. He criticized the ruling BJP leaders for downplaying the warnings about possible shortages, emphasizing the need for proactive measures to protect citizens during this critical period.
Drawing parallels with the COVID-19 pandemic, Dotasra accused the government of inadequate crisis management and attributed the gas shortage crisis to flawed foreign policy decisions. He highlighted the adverse effects of the shortage on households and industries, leading to operational disruptions and widespread unemployment. The scarcity of cooking gas has not only disrupted social events but also caused economic distress, compelling many laborers to return to their hometowns.
