Highlighting the party’s success in the state’s municipal council elections, Sapkal emphasized the Congress’s strong position with numerous elected representatives. He urged the public to resist the undemocratic practices of the BJP-led Mahayuti coalition.
Sapkal criticized the Election Commission for its alleged failure to ensure fair elections, citing issues such as discrepancies in voter lists and obstacles faced by opposition candidates. He accused the ruling party of manipulating the electoral process and criticized the Commission for its perceived bias. The Congress leader raised concerns about the conduct of the BJP and its allies, accusing them of employing coercion and intimidation tactics.
Addressing the BJP’s leadership’s statements about late Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Sapkal defended Deshmukh’s legacy and criticized the BJP’s alleged attempts to diminish his contributions. He condemned the BJP’s disrespectful remarks and highlighted the party’s efforts to preserve the legacies of prominent political figures. Sapkal also responded to comments made by Union Minister C.R. Patil, calling for a deeper understanding of historical figures like Shivaji Maharaj.
