The Maharashtra Home Department has ordered a detailed investigation into stand-up comedian Pranit More’s social media and digital platform content following alleged objectionable remarks made during his show. The Maharashtra Cyber Police will scrutinize videos from various performances and online content as part of the probe. Amid criticism over a viral video clip, More issued an apology, acknowledging his mistake and requesting another chance.
In an Instagram video, More expressed regret for not addressing inappropriate comments during a performance, admitting to a lapse in judgment. He accepted the backlash, stating that his reaction inadvertently amplified the derogatory remarks. The National Commission for Women summoned More and web developer Himanshu Jangra over comments made during a stand-up show in Gurugram, which were perceived as glorifying sexual coercion.
KEM Hospital and Seth G.S. Medical College placed MBBS student Sejal Pawar on a 15-day forced leave after a viral video controversy involving alleged objectionable remarks made during the same comedy show.
