Delhi Police apprehended a couple in the Moti Nagar area for stealing from passengers in e-rickshaws. The arrest followed a complaint by a 60-year-old man who reported a theft of Rs. 1,00,000 from his bag while traveling in an e-rickshaw. Police, after analyzing CCTV footage, identified the e-rickshaw used in the crime with registration number DL 4ERA 0760.

A 25-year-old man named Suresh and his 22-year-old wife Rajni, also known as Anjali, were identified as the accused. The couple confessed during interrogation that they targeted elderly passengers in e-rickshaws, stealing cash and valuables when the passengers disembarked. Authorities recovered Rs. 90,000 in stolen cash and the e-rickshaw used in the crime from the couple.

Further investigation is ongoing to determine if the accused couple was involved in similar theft cases targeting passengers and senior citizens. In a separate incident, Delhi Police arrested two criminals and a receiver connected to a theft case, seizing a significant amount of stolen items, including cash, jewellery, and melted silver.
