A court in Nashik, Maharashtra, has granted bail to Nida Khan, a former Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employee, who was arrested in connection with alleged sexual harassment and religious conversion cases at the Nashik office. Khan, who is five months pregnant, was arrested in May and sought bail due to her pregnancy, which was granted on July 6. The court emphasized that no woman should have to give birth in prison, drawing parallels to Lord Krishna’s birth.
The court highlighted that the investigation was complete, and the charge sheet had been filed, stating that keeping the pregnant accused in custody would serve no purpose. The prosecution opposed Khan’s bail application, citing evidence of sexual assault and religious coercion. Khan’s lawyer maintained her innocence, stating she was wrongly accused and had a good educational background.
Advocates representing the prosecution argued against Khan’s bail, citing evidence of sexual exploitation and religious coercion. Khan, who had previously worked at TCS, was released on a personal bond of Rs 75,000. The police are investigating multiple cases related to sexual exploitation and religious coercion at the TCS Nashik facility.
