The district administration in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, has initiated a crackdown on illegal madrasas in the Khoda area through ‘Operation Clean Sweep’ to combat criminal activities and bolster law enforcement. District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandar oversaw the operation on the ground, emphasizing the need for stringent measures. This move follows a recent high-profile murder case that raised concerns about law and order in the region.
Authorities are intensifying vigilance in Khoda, prompted by the murder case, leading to a comprehensive review of enforcement mechanisms. District Magistrate Mandar mentioned that the ongoing operation, ‘Clean Sweep,’ aligns with the Chief Minister’s directives to tackle criminal elements across the state. The administration’s focus includes verifying properties, landlords, tenants, and occupants to ensure legal compliance and curb illegal activities.
As part of the crackdown, three unregistered madrasas were identified and sealed to uphold regulatory standards. The campaign, aimed at preventing illegal activities and maintaining lawfulness, will persist beyond the initial phase. The operation also involves sealing unregistered madrasas like Madrasa Rahmania Arabia Qasim-ul-Uloom, emphasizing the drive’s continuity until all properties are verified.
‘Operation Clean Sweep’ in Khoda comprises three key objectives: verifying individuals with criminal backgrounds, summoning offenders for warnings, and taking legal action against those causing government revenue losses. A significant aspect of the operation includes a large-scale flag march to enhance police visibility and deter criminal activities. The intensified crackdown follows the tragic murder of a 17-year-old student, Surya Pratap Chauhan, in Khoda, leading to heightened police alertness and a thorough search campaign in the area.
