Amid the LPG crisis in Bihar, authorities are cracking down on black marketing and hoarding of LPG cylinders. A total of 419 cylinders have been seized, 23 FIRs filed, and 21 individuals arrested in the state. Police units in all 38 districts are conducting raids and investigations as directed by the Director General of Police Vinay Kumar.
The Forbesganj police station area in Araria district reported the highest seizure of 261 LPG cylinders with two arrests. In Saharsa, 112 cylinders were seized, and one suspect was identified. In Sheohar, 6 cylinders were confiscated, and two people were arrested.
In Begusarai, one person was arrested with 11 cylinders. Multiple FIRs were lodged in Saran, Muzaffarpur, and Motihari. Raids are ongoing in various districts to prevent hoarding and ensure a smooth supply of LPG.
Patna DM Tyagarajan SM mentioned that four restaurants and hotels were sealed, and five FIRs were filed. The administration is targeting illegal storage and black-market trading to combat artificial scarcity. Officials confirmed ongoing investigations and warned of strict action against disruptors in the supply chain.
