D.K. Shivakumar is set to become the Chief Minister of Karnataka, with the oath-taking ceremony scheduled for 4.05 p.m. on Wednesday at the Glass House in Lok Bhavan, Bengaluru. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Shivakumar and the new cabinet members during the ceremony. The event is expected to be attended by senior Congress leaders, including AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.
Several Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, Pradesh Congress Committee presidents, Members of Parliament, and senior party leaders will also be present at the ceremony. Notably, representatives from various sections of society, such as religious leaders, students, daily wage workers, civic workers, and farmer leaders, have been invited to participate. The inclusive guest list aims to highlight the new government’s commitment to engaging with diverse sections of society as Shivakumar prepares to assume office.
Shivakumar expressed his vision for a new era for the youth under his leadership in Karnataka, acknowledging the challenges that lie ahead. He emphasized the importance of inclusive governance, stating his dedication to working for the welfare of farmers, women, youth, and all segments of society. Reflecting on his political journey, Shivakumar attributed his elevation to Chief Minister to perseverance and the collective effort of Congress workers who uphold the party’s democratic values.
