Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, received his Grammy Award at his residence in Dharamshala. Renowned sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, along with his sons, presented the award for the album “Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.” This Grammy was awarded in the category of ‘Best Audio Book, Narration and Storytelling Recording.’
The album is a unique collaboration that combines the Dalai Lama’s reflections on compassion, peace, and humanity’s oneness with Indian classical music. It emphasizes the role of music, wisdom, and compassion in promoting inner peace and global understanding. Amjad Ali Khan expressed his honor in presenting the Grammy to the Dalai Lama.
The Dalai Lama, upon receiving the award earlier this year, expressed gratitude and humility, viewing it as a recognition of shared universal responsibilities. He stressed the importance of peace, compassion, environmental care, and unity for the well-being of all humanity. The Speaker and Tibetan political leader also congratulated the Dalai Lama on this achievement.
Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and Tibetan political leader Sikyong Penpa Tsering took to social media to extend their congratulations to the Dalai Lama for winning the Grammy Award. The recognition was for the audiobook “Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.” The Dalai Lama’s latest book, “In Voice for the Voiceless,” sheds light on Tibet’s struggle for freedom and the challenges faced by its people.
