The Dalai Lama, at 90, will be presented with a Grammy Award for his album “Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama” at his office in Dharamsala. The award-winning album is a collaboration with Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and his sons, blending the Dalai Lama’s teachings with Indian classical music. Ustad Amjad Ali Khan will officially present the Grammy Award to the Dalai Lama at the ceremony.
The collaboration emphasizes the power of music, wisdom, and compassion in fostering global peace and understanding. This Grammy Award marks the Dalai Lama’s second win, following his previous award for Best audio book. The Dalai Lama’s journey into exile from Tibet and his advocacy for human values and religious harmony are highlighted in his latest book, ‘In Voice for the Voiceless.’
Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, has been a prominent figure in promoting Tibetan culture and values while residing in India. His efforts to preserve Tibetan heritage and advocate for freedom are central themes in his life’s work.
